Craggy Gardens

A nice mountain hike near Craggy Gardens... A little cold, I'd say...

Just north of Asheville, Craggy Gardens is one of the most dramatic viewpoints on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Pisgah Inn

Here we are, at the 5,000 foot elevation at the Mt. Pisgah Inn... The Peak of the Blue Ridge Parkway...

The name "Pisgah" comes from the fourth chapter of Deuteronomy. The Lord ordered Moses to the top of this mountain and told him to look in all directions, thus revealing the "Promised Land" to the tribes of Israel.

The Mountains to Sea and Mountains to Sea Alternate trails loop through this Davidson River area. This spectacular natural setting includes an incredible network of trails

Here we are at Looking Glass Falls in Brevard, North Carolina, in the heart of the Cradle of Forestry.

Clean mountain water cascading 60 feet into a clear pool...

Looking Glass Falls was named for the reflective layer of ice that forms on Looking Glass Rock in wintertime

Fall leaves settled below the clean water...

Chimney Rock

In the heart of Hickory Nut Gorge, Chimney Rock Park is a 1000-acre scenic attraction with spectacular North Carolina hiking trails. It is located 25 miles southeast of Asheville NC.

Broad River

We stopped at the rocky Broad River near Lake Lure to have fun. The river is a popular tubing spot in the summer. Cold today, but great photo opportunity...
